Huzzah! Today is Halloween. Full of chocolately candy goodness!
That isn't the only thing that is good about today, of course. But it is a happy side effect.
Halloween has long been my favourite holiday. There's just something about it that is appealing. Aside from my sugar issues.
The history and traditions behind Halloween (that most have forgotten or never knew) are rich and appeal to the part of me that loves all things mystical and magical.
Why do we dress up as ghosties and ghoulies and things that go bump in the night? Why to fool the real ones of course! Tonight is the eve of all Hallows and the veil between our world and the spirit world is thin. Things that we don't normally see, walk the streets tonight and we disguise ourselves, lest we be stolen away.
How is that NOT awesome?
It is also a night for remembering those who have passed before us. Since they can drop in for a visit, have something nice waiting to share and remember to tell them how much they meant to you
And don't forget the candy!
