I sometimes find it hard to stick to my rule of not talking about politics in public forums (including here). Stuff just irritates the poo out of me and makes me want to talk some common sense to folks...
I was, however, recently reminded why I have that rule. (However is such an awesome word, by the way. Its part of speech is also really groovy. It's called an enclitic. Love the stuff you learn in Latin!) I pointed out to someone the factual incorrectness of a statement they had made. Without any sort of opinion or antagonism. Their reaction? Unfriended and blocked on Facebook along with a lengthy rant about how much they hate people who don't even know what they're talking about, etc. Which was amusing, given the fact that they clearly didn't know what they were talking about... So it was just more of the same I-believe-in-free-speech-but-only-as-long-as-you-agree-with-me-and-what-I-think-and-it's-what-I-want-to-hear crap that drives me so batty.
Which also then reminded me why the hypocrisy of people tends to make me wish I could be a hermit. Living all alone in a cozy little place in the middle of nowhere... Then I remember that I'd be missing out on some awesome food, internet access, and various other things that I kind of like. So I scrap the idea of being a hermit.
Anyway!
NaNoWriMo is rapidly approaching. Only 7 more days. Eep! And I haven't yet finished my outline for my run at 50k words in 30 days.
I do have several chapters outlined, but I don't think it'll get me through the full 50k, so I really need to buckle down and get some more done.
I've also decided that being sleepy and trying not to think about being sleepy only makes the sleepy worse... I miss nap time. I think that we should reinstitute nap time during the day... Either that, or the world just needs to start running on my natural nocturnal schedule. Or I need to win the lottery or become a famous and well paid author (like Neil Gaiman or JK Rowling or Stephen King) so that I can operate nocturnally without suffering too much for it.
